The VV GUI for initial evaluation and testing is great but if we want to scale up, I'd eventually want to automate the image submission and result retrieval through an API, even if I were running a local instance of VV.

I think that this would be useful down the road as well. I could see tools like Symbiota building this in. Not having to run batches of images through as a curator would be helpful.
