Sorry if the description brings up anyone's childhood trauma. I know this is relatable for a lot of us.
If there is a way to make them weak to getting their ears grabbed (like the nerds they are) let me know.
Give them the usual starting skills, too, ie climbing, athletics, wrestling, etc, so they aren't too much of a chore to play.
I personally am against adding the little magician heir, as that adds even more magic to an already magic heavy faction and dilutes the magician apprentice's vibe.

Mage apprentice doesn't have those skills, so it seems it would be a little unfair. But to be honest I could add them to mage apprentice too at the same time
And I, personally, am for the magician heir. Since it would be fun as hell. :>
More seriously speaking:
There's tonnes of mage's outside the keep with Mercenary mages, adventurer mages, and even antag mages. They are STRICTLY weaker than mage apprentice in exchange for their royalty. And it's definitely a class that would be enjoyed.
And I think enjoyment and rp opportunities outweigh the importance of measuring how much magic-weight is in a faction.
I like it, it gives more rp options for prince.
A mage heir like this would be just as combat capable as the already existing Daring Twit subclass that gives them mediocre combat skills/stats: sorta-kinda capable but not even comparable to their non-royal apprentice counterparts. A Daring Twit princess isn't gonna compare to a squire - and that's because they're not supposed to! Likewise, this subclass isn't gonna compare to a mage apprentice - because they aren't supposed to!
The benefits they gain are so minor that it really is just for RP flavor, and that's what I really like about this! Full support!!
The daring twit actually has the squire stuff, that's the point. We did pump up the squire a little since, though.
Still; I stand by the comment, I don't think the faction with all of the town-sided arcane users needs more arcane users. The arcane virtue already covers this to a reasonable degree, i m o. Still, voice in a pond.
seems fine. i am cautiously optimistic that this will not lead to the prince running out to (try to) frag.
This let's me RP as Victor Vallakovich, AKA, it's peak azure. I like it!
not really concerned about mage bloat since prince slots are more contested than nagorno-karabakh. we can always dial it back if it doesn't work out
About The Pull Request
Adds a new subclass to heir called "Introverted Bookworm" (keeping along with the theme of subclass names for heirs being incredibly insulting) Essentially a nerfed version of mage apprentice with one less starting point to play with, no free starting gem, reduced strength and constitution and no free lightning bolt. Starts with spectacles because they're a nerd.
Why It's Good For The Game
It's fun. It's not particularly strong, it's not gonna kill game balance. Prince subclass options are already a little sad at the moment and there are more than a few regular princess players that would LOVE to play a subclass like this.
If anyone thinks this is somehow too crazy I will nerf as many more stats as needed.
