this is not exactly intended for tv, mouse movement works but mouse clicks don't; there might be more issues i did not check.

I use it as a foss way to send keyboard input from my phone to my tv. Works if you setup permissions for 'receive remote keypress' and select the kde keyboard as input method (the keyboard has to be on screen, not just selected, for you to be able to send keypresses from your phone/another device with kde connect). The switch input method button is not accessible with the remote on the kde keyboard, i mapped some button actions with Key Mapper to change between default keyboard and kde keyboard easily.
