Website to http://www.asmeurer.com/git-workflow seems to be down, perhaps we could link directly to the repository at https://github.com/asmeurer/git-workflow? Or we could find a newer example somewhere else.

Most of the info from their post is also at https://github.com/GenericMappingTools/2021-eswn-pygmt-workshop/blob/main/setup.md. I could expand that a bit to include submitting pull requests (e.g., https://github.com/GenericMappingTools/2021-eswn-pygmt-workshop/blob/main/activities/github-doc-workflow.md + a version for local changes). We could either host it in the PyGMT repository, as a hackmd document in 'book view mode', or an update to the workshop repository.
If you don't think having a PyGMT specific post similar to theirs is worthwhile, I think we could wait a bit to see if the site comes back and possibly even open an issue to let them know it's down.
FYI git-workflow link seems to work again.
Closing this since the link to https://www.asmeurer.com/git-workflow is fixed. Updating the git tutorial might be a bit of work, so let's consider it another time.
