Term is confusing.

By definition, it would be about the sample "The device used to collect an environmental sample. This field accepts terms listed under environmental sampling device (http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/ENVO). This field also accepts terms listed under specimen collection device (http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/GENEPIO_0002094)."

But, it's in the nucleic acid sequence source section. Which implies it's how the DNA was collected.

Similar note for sample collection method & sample material processing

Each terms definition appears to refer to the starting sample (the soil), but it's in the nucleic acid sequence processing section, which implies it's asking about the analytical sample (the DNA).
