issue label audit recommended #669

17 of the 38 issue labels are used by fewer than 2 issues

I suspect that some of the labels are broadly synonymous, too. So we have inconsistent specificity.

This decreases the value of issue labels. One also could ask why we have so many issues that don't have any label.

Remember, labels can only be added by people with the relevant permissions in the repo. We should also consider default labels in ticket templates

  • delete the majority of the labels
  • check other for overlap
  • provide some guidance about issue labeling and budget time for it too!
