Hi @allysonlister , I've added this to the compliance and interoperability working group (CIG) call agenda for later today, hopefully we'll be able to schedule time to make the updates. Thanks for the prompt.
Thanks very much for the quick reply!
Happy to explain more, either via this ticket or a short call, as you prefer.
All the best, Allyson
I confess I have been ignoring those emails for months. I'm making a few changes now. I also added @only1chunts and @lschriml as contact points. Please add your ORCIDs.
Fantastic, thank you! We all have periods that are very busy, but I'm really looking forward to giving these a spring clean with you all, if you'll pardon the Northern Hemisphere reference...
Update the MIGS/MIMS record, splitting it into two if required It seems that MIGS and MIMS are now distinct checklists, with the MIGS being further separated by taxonomy. It may be that it is best to split this record into two, one for the MIGS family of checklists, and one for MIMS.
The above record (https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.va1hck) is not owned by Ramona, but any of you can still add yourselves as owners in order to make updates and for attribution.
Update all records that are part of the GSC collection To get you started, I have updated the MIMARKS record (https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.zvrep1), adding links to the official URLs and generally tidying up the record. Please could you ensure that all other GSC records are similarly up to date? Note that each tab of the edit interface has its own documentation within our Gitbook pages, starting at https://fairsharing.gitbook.io/fairsharing/record-sections-and-fields/how-to-update-a-record
If you'd like help e.g. with bulk addition of a particular set of owners/maintainers to part (or all) of the GSC collection, please let me know and I can do that a bit more quickly behind the scenes here.
Complete curation on MISAG and MIMAG, and add to the GSC collection Last December, Ramona said that she would add the MISAG (https://fairsharing.org/4557) and MIMAG (https://fairsharing.org/4558) records to FAIRsharing, but the curation on these records is still incomplete (you will need to be logged in as the "rwalls" user to view these hidden records - let us know if a different user account also needs to have access and we can arrange that). While you have provided all of the information listed in the "General Information" tab of the Edit form, there are 5 other tabs that contain important metadata fields such as organisation, licencing and data processes. Please note that the different portions of a FAIRsharing record are represented via tabs in the Edit interface. This allows you to perform updates to your record in manageably-sized chunks, as you can work on and save the information in one tab before moving on to the next. We will only be able to approve these submissions once you have provided more metadata. Once they are approved, you can add them to the GSC collection (we have documentation for adding relationships here). Please feel free to modify and add any new information that is required. If you’re not sure where a piece of information should go, please contact us. We are happy to help you curate and maintain your record.
As a final note, you can now have your role as a maintainer added automatically to your ORCID profile! Find out how at https://fairsharing.gitbook.io/fairsharing/attribution-for-you#your-orcid-profile
We reviewed this today and it looks like the GSC record (https://fairsharing.org/GSC) is up to date, but the MixS record (https://fairsharing.org/FAIRsharing.va1hck) needs to have a maintainer. @only1chunts requested ownership and add @sformel-usgs as maintainer for both.
@allysonlister can you give permission to @only1chunts and me (@sformel-usgs) to finish developing the MISAG/MIMAG entries? That will help us get it over the finish line.
Thanks!
i've added @only1chunts and @sformel-usgs as maintainers on the MISAG and MIMAG, and to MixS. Please update as required, and let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Dear GenSC team,
I've contacted you a few times via email to genomicstandardsconsortium@gmail.com (from our general contact@fairsharing.org address), but I fear my messages may have been redirected to your spam, so I'm trying the issue tracker instead.
Thank you for your collection with us (https://fairsharing.org/GSC) and for maintaining the associated standards records in FAIRsharing. We ask that you review your records, please, as we have noticed that some homepage urls are no longer valid.
In particular, https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.va1hck represents what was called the "MIGS/MIMS" checklist, and the homepage url specified (http://wiki.gensc.org/index.php?title=MIGS/MIMS) is invalid.
It seems from looking at https://genomicsstandardsconsortium.github.io/mixs/ that:
From this, we ask that you consider performing the following actions. Please note that I am happy to schedule a short call with you to answer any questions you might have, just let me know.
