gnirehtet with a vpn on host device #307

Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to use a VPN on the host windows device and then reverse tether your phone so that it also uses the VPN that your PC does. I have tried doing so with ExpressVPN and it doesn't work, I also tried it with Tuxler and while the internet on the phone works it doesn't use the Tuxler IP but rather the IP the PC had before connecting on Tuxler.

Edit: I managed to get ExpressVPN to work after changing the DNS with the -d flag to match the DNS of the ExpressVPN adapter but I still have no idea how to get Tuxler to work since it doesn't have an adapter like ExpressVPN.

The gnirehtet relay server on the computer just open TCP and UDP sockets to the internet. If your VPN is correctly enabled/configured, these sockets should use the VPN.
