enable some internet, like mobile data won't use it, but phone will tell apps it is connected
is that possible tho
For my use case, this is a problem that cannot be worked around by connecting to WiFi. My phone's antenna, or possibly a related component, is broken (water damage). Everything on the phone works well except mobile data, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Functions that require wireless connectivity are completely non-operative.
Gnirehtet works great on my phone for apps like Chrome; I can browse the web just fine when it's running. Other apps that seem to be trying to intelligently detect when the phone is "connected", including most messaging apps, still aren't functional even with Gnirehtet connected.
I'm on Android 12.
I would be very curious to hear if anyone knows what might need to be done in Gnirehtet to make it work for my use case, where the workaround of connecting to (any) WiFi network is simply not an option.
Hi @reidmv, I have exactly the same issue as you. Did you manage to resolve this?
Hi @reidmv @Korogba same here. My phones all network connectivity has been damaged by water. I can use internet by all browser, but network connectivity seeking apps not working like telegram, WhatsApp and all google play related apps. So please update us if you find any solution.
My device: Samsung A52 (android 12 updated)
Is even Bluetooth broken?

You can try web versions of them like web.telegram.com or web.whatsapp.com

Another way might be to enable VPN which works, but needs testing

Thanks @Antonzlo! Bluetooth tethering worked! I still wonder if there is a way to signal to apps that there is connectivity when the bluetooth is also broken.
Hi @Antonzlo Yeah! Bluetooth also not working. So I can't use Bluetooth tethering either.
Another option is to use the spoof-wifi-connection
patch in ReVanced for apps that don’t know they have a connection. Might not work for every app, but worth a try I guess.
Cool
