@rom1v I have android studio, I quit android studio and retried, but it doesnt work. I tried setting the adb version for scrcpy to the version used by Android Studio as well, but it doesnt seem to work

1 year ago I am running into this same issue. It opens for a few seconds, then closes. With scrcpy -m 1024, it stays open for even less time. I have tried 3 different usb ports, and I have no idea what ADB is or how I could have something open that's using it.
I get the same error.

1 year ago I was able to get it to work because something else on my computer was running adb and I didn't know. Not to be an ass (because I understand it may sound that way), but next time if someone doesn't know what adb is, could you maybe give an example of what could possibly be running adb in the background? Like "If you've downloaded any other phone screen mirroring or recording program, make sure it's closed...", or explain what adb is so someone could figure out what the problem is on their end without thinking its your problem to fix.

1 year ago I guess i was not clear enough, I know what adb is. it's just that I cant think of any application i have installed other than android studio that uses adb.

1 year ago You should be able to reproduce even without scrcpy. Run adb devices every second for example (or /Users/****/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/adb devices).
