Probably #2718, fixed on
dev
branch by 46d3e35 (#2718 (comment)).
Sorry, i was looking for how to compile it... I'll try really soon!
DE video4linux2,v4l2 Video4Linux2 output device
Hmm, that should work even without the fix.
Try to recompile (at least, you will use a non-snap version and run it without sudo
).
sudo scrcpy …
Btw, you should never run scrcpy as root.
I thought it would help because of the v4l2loopback... i won't do that anymore, thanks!
It worked, thanks!
What worked in the end? Just using a non-snap version? Or using the dev
branch? What if you compile the master
branch instead?
I compiled master, just swapping from snap to a master compile worked. Maybe i should've added permissions (using snap connect
) to scrcpy?
@sisco311 Do you have an idea why the snap version could not find the v4l2 muxer?
Without the camera plug connected the snap has no access to /dev/videoN
It should work now in v1.20, but the plug must be connected manually:
sudo snap connect scrcpy:camera
Thanks !!!
Environment
Using --v4l2-sink won't output to v4l2 loopback device Command:
sudo scrcpy --turn-screen-off --v4l2-buffer=10 --v4l2-sink=/dev/video8
