scrcpy --v4l2-sink=/dev/video4 --no-display gives unrecognized option error #2959

Trying to capture phone screen as a video input from obs. I created video source in /dev/videoN but here's the error when I try to start scrcpy with these arguments.

→ ls /dev/video*
/dev/video0  /dev/video1  /dev/video2  /dev/video3  /dev/video4
→ scrcpy --v4l2-sink=/dev/video4 --no-display 
scrcpy: unrecognized option '--v4l2-sink=/dev/video4'

scrcpy version: 1.12.1

This feature has been added in v1.18.

You can install the latest version manually: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/blob/master/BUILD.md#simple

I already install the latest version manually like you said before

I install from master branch

but my scrcpy version still :

I check v4l2-ctl --list-devices

Dummy video device (0x0000) (platform:v4l2loopback-000): /dev/video3

Droidcam (platform:v4l2loopback_dc-000): /dev/video0

FJ Camera: FJ Camera (usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.2): /dev/video1 /dev/video2

and scrcpy still : unrecognized option '--v4l2-sink=/dev/video3'

when I run : scrcpy -m 1024 --window-title 'myAndroid' --v4l2-sink=/dev/video3

Otherwise, I also run scrcpy --help

and there is no option for --v4l2-sink=/dev/videoN

Any suggestion to fix this? Need your help.

I also wonder why my scrcpy version still scrcpy 1.12.1 (not v1.18) while I have updated from master branch.

but I also suspect this is caused by conflict with DroidCam (platform:v4l2loopback_dc-000)

PS : I install DroidCam for my OBS plugin. But I hope it's not conflict with scrcpy v4l2-sink feature. I will replace DroidCam if scrcpy v4l2-sink running well.

Uninstall the one from your distrib:

sudo apt remove scrcpy
