Dear Martin,

HOVER WP7 is ready to deliver final products in GeoTIFF format, but since the administration module does not yet support the upoading of GeoTIFF, they are not sure how to proceed.

Do they have to fill in the metadata and then email you the GeoTIFFs with some kind of number or identifier so you can relate the metadata to the GeoTIFFs?

Do they have to delay the delivery date of their products until this functionality is ready?

They are about to send a document with the deliverable amendments and they need to know if they have to delay the deliverable date or not.

Thanks in advance

Kind regards,

Marga

Good morning Marga,

We are working on the GeoTIFF upload now and I hope it will be available soon. So if you could wait a little then the we should have the functionality ready.

Best regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin for your quick reply.

When do you think the GeoTIFF upload will be ready? Is just to be able to write a date on the amendments document.

Best,

Marga

Dear all,

I have two VERY URGENT questions/issues: 1) Is the GeoTIFF upload functionality available yet on the GIP/EGDI Admin website? 2) Can my existing user account (for egditest01) be activated for/transferred to the GIP/EGDI Admin website? [https://data.geus.dk/egdiadmin/]

We´re currently working on metadata creation which then should be followed by the upload of the WP7 datsets. Deadline for this is actually TODAY (2020-11-30)...

Thanks for any help/progress! Kind regards, Martin Krombholz

@mh-geus-dk will need to confirm but my understanding is that the GeoTIFF upload functionality is not yet available. I think you should still be able to create the metadata records (I assume you have a login for the metadata editor?).

Hi Marcus! Yes, the MD editor login works just fine!

Yes but only in the test system 😉

We hope to have it in production soon.

Cheers, Martin

Is the upload expecting only TIFF file, or will it also accept/expect accompanying files (filename.aux.xml and filename.ovr).

mh-geus-dk commented 3 years ago

Now it is only GeoTIFF as several project want to deliver data as GeoTIFF. At some point we also thought about Geocoded JPEG 2000 but has not been mentioned by any of the project. I have been thinking about deleting Geocoded JPEG’s as GeoTIFF has a no loss compression.

I meant for GeoTIFF only, sorry I wasn't clear, for example I have a NTT.tif, NTT.tif.aux.xml, NTT.tif.ovr as files for a single GeoTIFF. (just like a shapefile is actually multiple files).

mh-geus-dk commented 3 years ago

Ok right now it must be single file GeoTIFF.

We have an issue though see https://github.com/GeoEra-GIP/Project-Support-WP8/issues/435

bgsmase commented 3 years ago

It should now be possible to load GeoTIFF files on the production EGDI platform although users are encouraged to try this out on the test platform first. This issue is being closed as email indicates that test files have been sent directly to EGDI.

(Problems with specific files to be covered by separate issues.)
