Merge mapviewer branch into master #1741

Proceed with the merge of the mapviewer-resource branch into master.

  1. Merge master into mapviewer-resource
  2. Update the MapStore submodule to the latest commit of 2024.01.xx
  3. Merge mapviewer-resource back into master
