Merge French version of GNC data #20

@peterdesmet I think there is a French equivalent of the Geographic Names Data. Are these exactly the same data with French column and internal vocabulary, or are they French names for the same features as in the data set we already processed? If there are synonyms, we want to include them. If there are distinct features in the other data set, we want them too. Can you investigate this or get us a dump of the French version to analyze?

Do you mean: ftp://ftp2.cits.rncan.gc.ca/pub/geobase/official/cgn/250k_shp_fra/ ? I don't know what data is in there. Do you want me to process them the same way I did for the English files and send them to you?

It's done: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2173123/250k_shp_fra_one_folder.zip. Let me know when you have downloaded the file, so I can remove it. Just as with the English zip the first of the 1003 zipped folders was corrupt, so there are 4008 files (1002 x 4 formats).

Got it. This data set is exactly the same as the one in English, except for the values of the feature type (e.g., Lac instead of Lake). So, no processing to be done here. Closing.
