unwrapping human body #57

Hi,

Thanks for the great work!! I'm trying to parametrize a human body iin order to put texture on it. When trying to place cones (both manually and automatically) the head area is always in blue. When I place the cones manually i end up always with overlaps and when I automatically increase them there are no significant changes in the head. Are there any recommandition on how to obtain the best possible results?

PS: I attached a screenshot for clarification! image

Kind regards,

@wissalsayhi This is tricky to get right. We are hoping to build in better automatic cone placement, but I'm not sure if it'll be a silver bullet in terms of getting low distortion maps without overlap. However, overlaps can easily be handled if you are willing to introduce seams into your parameterization - simply just segment parts of the flattened mesh that are overlapping. I'd probably recommend first placing cones to minimize distortion, then segmenting the uvs in another software. In the meantime, I'll place automatic segmentation on the list of feature requests.
