I think this might be a case of a mixed mode creeping in. The curvature in the mode ID solution is pretty strong, which may be due to the presence of an avoided crossing in the l=1 modes, so it tries to account for that by increasing the curvature. This is a bit dangerous since increasing the curvature can also skew dnu.

Try running this with the SG model.
