Standardising date formats on product pages #273

Closed benji-glitsos-ga closed 3 months ago

benji-glitsos-ga commented 3 months ago

On product pages, I changed several dates from the format 1/1/2024 to the format 1 Jan 2024.

This is to make the dates more easily readable and also to avoid confusion since in the US, they write the month number first in this 1/1/2024 date format.

I double checked I converted all the dates correctly, since this change involved potential for human error.

Just seeking feedback from more stakeholders on these date formats to ensure that we choose a format that people like.

I asked several stakeholders for their opinions on these date formats and I also consulted the Australian Government Style Manual. Therefore, I concluded that the appropriate date format is 1 Jan 2024. This aligns with the Style Manual which encourages the use of a worded Month name, due to the ambiguities of numbered date names. Also, the worded Month name may allow the date to be easier to read for some readers.
