What version of twilghtmenu and gbarunner2 are you using and can you specify what you mean by "sounds off"?

instruments not synching up; i can send you a video if that would be of any help

I do not have this issue on the latest DSi/3DS DSP builds (bundled in the latest TWLMenu++). If you're on a DS flashcard, then it's currently normal for the instruments to not sync.
