Add options to turn off the unused screen completely #162

Right now, it seems the bottom screen is kept on so it can be touched and used for the menu, but that is mostly wasting energy. Could you add an option to completely turn off thee screen?

Maybe you could also set up a key combination to bring it back up? (Select + R or something, for example, as done with some Flashcarts and stuff). This is not necessary the way I see it, but something to consider.

Whenever I run a GBA rom from the menu, the bottom screen goes black. I don't know why you would want to turn off the screen completely (and not have it able to come back up).

There also is the option to make the GBA screen (which is top by default), to display on the bottom. I personally think the current solution is fine. Which version are you using?

It is possible to turn the screen back on when entering the touch menu.

Why the screen should be turned off is to save power when playing GBA games.

Whatever version is bundled with Twilight menu 17.1.1.

And as long as save data corruption is not a big risk, I don't mind having it working like a regular flashcart does (as in after you choose a game, it'll run it until you hit a specific key combo or until you reboot the console)

So, no downsides, I suppose? :-)

Correct!

This would also imply that the game menu should be on the same screen where the game is running because so far it is only on the bottom screen. Perfect for gameboy macro mods or if one of the screens is damaged for some reason (in my case I have a DSi XL that they gave me where it is beautiful to play GBA... But it has a black spot on the 75% of bottom screen)
