There should be a nice way to gain soil and plants within these corrupted Wastelands

My idea for a DNA system:
You need to collect samples within flasks. The flasks save location of taken dirt.
A DNA analyzer then analyzes up to 8 samples at the same time. Within the samples it finds some random DNA information. Samples that were taken at locations near each other give less information.
The DNA database server then saves the DNA information.
With enough info you can reconstruct soil, seeds or maybe even animals.
The DNA modifier uses the information to turn dirt into soil, to mend/repair seeds and perhaps to clone animals.
