Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. To be able to place and store ingots and wood on the ground so they don't take up space in your inventory.

That's what barrels and eventulaly other inventries are for. Unless you intend to remove all storage inventories, there is no need to place ingots and logs into piles, since it is much easier to place the whole stack of them into a chest then in the worldspace.

Actually it's for decoration and for starting a fire

We can also use the log stacks to make charcoal blocks which can be used then for smelting ores

Ingots should also be able to be place-able so you can let them cool down...
