Currently, Get iPlayer Automator allows you to download and watch BBC and ITV shows on your Mac. Series-Link/PVR functionality ensures you will never miss your favourite shows. Programmes are fully tagged and added to iTunes automatically upon completion. It is simple and easy to use, and runs on any machine running Mac OS X 10.7 or later. And since the shows are in iTunes, it is extremely easy to transfer them to your iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV allowing you to enjoy your shows on the go or on your television.

HD Content not downloading #14

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Adding a HD show and choosing the HD option 2. 3. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expected is for the program to download the HD Version and convert it to a MP4, instead the downloads the alternative Very High Quality Setting, with the log shown below. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 1.1.11 - OS X 10.6.4 - Snow Leopard Please provide any additional information below. AppController: Starting Downloads

I have updated to the latest version of get_iplayer (which partially solves this problem) from http://git.infradead.org/get_iplayer.git - see snapshot and rtmpdump from http://trick77.com/downloads/ The problem is because the BBC updated to a new version of its Flash embedded media player for the iPlayer - see http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/get_iplayer/2010-October/000206.html It requires the URL to change from http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/10player.swf?revision=18269_19216 to http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/10player.swf?revision=18269_21576 . However Get iPlayer Automator the url is hard-wired as http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/10player.swf?revision=15501_15796 - even older.

I used HexEdit to change the url in Get iPlayer Automator.app/Contents/MacOS/Get iPlayer Automator (which is a Unix executable) I replaced the Get iPlayer Automator.app/Contents/Resources/get_iplayer.pl with the get_iplayer that I downloaded in the snapshot and added .pl extension I replaced the Get iPlayer Automator.app/Contents/Resources/rtmpdump with the one downloaded I removed the .swfinfo file from the home folder (I found it using EasyFind from ( http://www.devon-technologies.com/download/ )

I've attached an updated Get iPlayer Automator file compress in 7zip (it was the only compression that would get it below 10MB limit on here - open with Ez7Z http://leifertin.info/app/eZ7z/ ) You also need to remove .swfinfo before it will download flashhd

I have a MacBook5,1 , Intel Core 2 Duo with Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a) (Leopard). I hope you could give me some indications about how to overcome that error. Thank you very much for your great work!

Yeah, unfortunately RTMPDUMP won't run on Leopard, it requires Snow Leopard. And the BBC now requires SWF Verification which FLVStreamer doesn't support. My only recommendation is that you update to Snow Leopard.

Yes, I kinda guessed that that was the problem and asked a friend with Snow Leopard to download it for me. Thanks for the info!
