Any idea in updating to a newer marlin version or just go with this one? just got an used GR2 with stock motherboard and fw. i see all original features such as app control and such are not existing anymore....

so im thinking just upgrading to a newer marlin, just for fun (not for app support)

i see newest marlin is 2.1.1 now so would it make sense for me go with 2.0.8 yours. over stock one...

or should i aim for a 2.1.1 release instead?

In my opinion you can stay with 2.0.8.2, since is quite stable. Anyway if you want to start the 2.1.1 journey upgrade, i am going to be glad.
