Heart and Swim ! #65

With Arma 3, BI add a new battlefield in Altis and Stratis, the Sea. I am proposing to extend the Heart and Mind to this new terrain.

You welcome, if you have any idea, help or code !

some kind of sea piracy / ambient civilian boating could be nice, almost like a sea patrol possibility, with crimes / terrorists operating from boats, raiding a coast and then going back to sea.

Perhaps add caches or ammo supplies for enemies rught on the coast, thereby allowing players to do a marine based landing / assualt.

I don't like that much this part of the mission tbh, maybe make it optional

I will make it optional after winter break :) But I am curious if you could explain why you don't like much ? And after I could do some modification to improve it.

For me, this idea appear when I played the Heart and Mind in Lingor Island. This map has a lot of coastline, so you need boat to move in easier. I thought that it could be so cool to see enemy boat patrolling around Island. Of course Stratis and Altis don't have this coastline, so it is not so interesting than in Lingor or Taona (http://arma3.com/tanoa). But Stratis and Altis have nice underwater terrain so I want to use it!

Mostly because i don't like naval warfare that much since A3 doesn't handle it very well. It's missing big ships and it's "limited" to patrol boat.

If it's activable via parameter you can de-activate it easily where this option is not required (eg Takistan)

I am totally agree with you, it is so limited by the number of boat and diver skin. My pull request only include what Arma 3 gave us : patrol boat civil/enemy and diver. Not a lot of mission include it and I want to supprise player by this fearture.

So, does it affect the patrol spawn generator at the moment ?

Not a lot, before patrol spawn generator searched for safepos on land, now it search also on sea. After, It select landvehicule or boat depending of the surface type. Add waypoint function also choose the appropriate waypoint depending of the vehicle type (car ccant swim ...)
