Hey @woollenhat, thanks for the feedback! Yes, the blade tool is definitely not the most inconvenient of all, so as the trimming. We're reviewing all of the UI / UX at the moment, so this hopefully will get better soon.
Right now, to get a better control over it, you can zoom into the timeline (the magnifying glass on the right of the editor window). Also, after making a cut, you can also adjust either end with the trim handles. So, zooming the timeline can give down-to-a-frame precision, but it's not the most intuitive or convenient approach – fully agree. Again, thanks for the feedback – please feel free to share more thoughts and observations!
Splitting the track with the blade-tool feels very imprecise. It would be nice if there was a specific action to use the blade tool at the specific position the playhead is currently at (similar to the split clip functionality of QuickTime, ⌘ + Y)
