In fact, it is active and working perfectly on my setup with macOS Sequoia. On macOS Sequoia there are two methods to activate it.
Method 1 with kext, OCLP and disabling SIP. Method 2 (which I use, and is "simpler") with kext and https://github.com/OpenIntelWireless/HeliPort app.
I will guide you through method 2, ok!
Step 1: format a USB flash drive in fat32
Step 2: on macOS, mount your EFI partition and copy it to the formatted USB flash drive (do not do it directly in the EFI of your macOS!!!).
Step 3: download the kext (https://github.com/OpenIntelWireless/itlwm/releases/download/v2.3.0/itlwm_v2.3.0_stable.kext.zip) and the HeliPort app(Heliport.dmg stable).
Step 4: in the EFI that was copied to the USB stick, in EFI > OC > Kexts remove (AirportItlwm.kext), add itlwm.kext, downloaded in step 3.
Now open your config.plist (I recommend propertree) and do an OCCleanSnapshot and save the config.plis.
Step 4: once done, restart the machine with the USB stick and boot from it, not from the macOS disk! After restarting, you still won't have Wi-Fi enabled. Now it's time to install the HeliPort app. It will enable a Wi-Fi icon on the top bar of macOS. Connect to your network. If everything went well, Wi-Fi will be enabled!!!
Step 5: Now, if your Wi-Fi is enabled, just mount your macOS EFI and replace it with the one on the USB stick!!
Note: This method enables Wi-Fi, but macOS recognizes it as an Ethernet network card, without location support, and it won't work for installation via the recovery image!
Note: Cosmetic: Set the HeliPort app to start with macOS and disable the default macOS Wi-Fi icon. This way, your hack will start with just one Wi-Fi icon (HeliPort) and connect automatically!
Please test this solution and let me know if the problem was solved.
This issue will be closed, but can be reopened if the problem persists.
Best regards: GilbertoDev.
Now, It's working with method 2. You're great. Thanks for your support.
I'm glad you fixed your wifi, but it's not my merit. I just shared what I learned with others :) I'm thinking of adding an EFI for macOS Sequoia to the release and then just installing the HeliPort app!
Sonoma was working just fine after your guide but after updating it to Sequoia wifi has stopped the working. Bluetooth is working fine.
