My question to you is, is my system a 7.1 ? And can I achieve atmos surround given the beamgen 2 and 2x 300s ? And quick info, when i play movies in plex on the desktop or play a pc game it says 5.1 Dolby digital in the app.. sry to bother you thx in advance
You have a 5.1 setup. Sonos doesn't support 7.1 currently. Although it does support down sampling from 7.1 to 5.1, although that usually has no use case.
Anyways, you mentioned that you have a Beam Gen 2. This soundbar supports surround sound natively in Windows, unlike Gen 1. So you don't need any of the steps in this guide.
If you need any more guidance then please let me know. :)
Native support you say? Until I followed your guide the Sonos app only displayed stereo pcm, and is it possible to achieve Dolby Atmos ?

What's the LG TV model that you have?
Sry couldn’t find that info in the menu hope this helps

The model number should be on a label on the backside of the TV or on the invoice/receipt when you bought it.
That is the label on the backside

Its model number is 50UK6750PLD
Ah yes. Because it's only ARC and not eARC it still needs the workaround in my guide. Newer LG OLEDs TVs support lossless 5.1 surround without workarounds.
Anyways, to answer your original question: Sonos doesn't currently support 7.1
Thank you for your reply, Can fx-configurator achieve Dolby Atmos however ?

Don't bother with Dolby Atmos on Windows for games. Even with eARC the sound delay is horrible. Xbox also has this same delay issue, the PlayStation seems to be fine.
Wouldn’t the hd fury arcana remedy this ?

I don't think so.
Huh…Well Got any tips how to get the Dolby app on windows to play ball then ? I read somewhere that one would need to hdmi cables, one for the graphics and second for sound from one’s graphics card, have any experience with this ? And is your step by step guide obsolete today ?

What's the exact problem you're dealing with? I assumed you got 5.1 Dolby surround working fine via my guide.
The problem I’m dealing with is that I have Dolby Atmos with the beam gen 2 and 2x era 300s
When i for instance play a movie from the plex app on the LGtv and check my Sonos app, it displays as playing Dolby Atmos, however if I run the plex app from the desktop and play the exact same movie, it only displays Dolby Digital 5.1
Keeping in mind there is a Dolby app on the Microsoft App Store but I’m stuck on one the last steps…so that’s it mr Adonis, I have Dolby Atmos gear that works on the tv app and I think apps on the tv don’t run that great hence the plex on the desktop…sry for the long response

What you're looking for is bit-streaming Atmos from Plex/VLC/Mediaplayer. This guide is only for gaming and/or native Windows support, which is something different.
Please note that I do not know how to get bit-streaming working properly for your setup.
Instead of going all these steps to get it working on your desktop, have you considered a Chromecast 4K with Google TV? It'll do Dolby Atmos and is a lot cheaper than a NVIDIA Shield.
I see, I think I’m try my luck on the arcana or somewhat cheaper alternative, thx for the guide

Have you read this reply? It's probably the cheapest option to get a great TV watching experience. :)
I have a friend who’s pushing the apple 4K tv on me for the same reason - the reason for the arcana purchase is because I only have a standard arc port and not a e-arc, the arcana circumvents my tv’s lack of Dolby Atmos and e-arc port - but in terms of gaming it’s as good as it’s gonna get ?

Do you have any experience with the arcana or are you aware of a cheaper alternative ?

Hello and pardon me for asking another Sonos surround question but you’re the only one whom I’ve come across who has a workaround the whole HD Fury arcana situation and I would be deeply grateful if you can help,
first of all I have an Lgtv with standard arc hdmi port, my beamgen 2 (+sub mini and 2x era 300)is connected to the arc port and my pc is connected via nvidia graphics hdmi port to a lgtv hdmi port
I followed your guide up until the loopbeaudio part however I did give the demo a try and I think I might be getting the full program.
My question to you is, is my system a 7.1 ? And can I achieve atmos surround given the beamgen 2 and 2x 300s ? And quick info, when i play movies in plex on the desktop or play a pc game it says 5.1 Dolby digital in the app.. sry to bother you thx in advance
