I need to tidy the code so it's clearer and arranged in a more logical order

partially resolved in https://github.com/GinjaChris/pentmenu/commit/39d4904ead5a6c864d22cfc9c177afd4b80f1937#diff-6a976fd914ce67b0d5e6246f0025adc6 and https://github.com/GinjaChris/pentmenu/commit/6f18f8f42775eeac19a34b50e960b948501732d1#diff-6a976fd914ce67b0d5e6246f0025adc6 (it got a bit messy, sorry). I still need to comment the code better.
