Feature request: more options to main dialog

In the main dialog it would be good to have at least few extra options:

Do you want to change the background color
Do you want to show the Halo-layer as a halo or as a "globe outline" (= same geometry, but no effects and no fill, just a thin black outline)

These would make the plugin more useful especially when making locator maps.
