Game not launching in VR #116

I'm using valve index on archlinux. I copied the files into my game folder, added the launch options, start steamVR, and then start the game. I then load into a test chamber. I notice the portal gun is sitting in the middle of the screen (on my desktop), but nothing shows up on my headset.

The option to "Disable SteamVR theater in Steam settings" appears to have been removed from steamvr 2.0.

I got it to show up in VR in the new theater with 2.0 but it's unplayable. I can't move and when aiming I usually end up spinning in circles. screenshot_20231119001036

Have you tried launching SteamVR first, then launching Portal 2 from SteamVR?

You can disable theater in VR > Settings > Dashboard. Still presents Theater tho, but dumps you in VR after you start.
