I cloned it! but when I use cd proj/Profileportal thing it says it's not present on my system! Can I work on the layout without setting it locally on my system.

Thanks for pointing that out. The name of the directory is 'ProfilePortal-Beta'. I've updated that in the Readme, you can take a look at it now

that virtualenv thing isn't getting installed, can't I work on it without setting it on my local system.

You can still run it without setting up a virtualenv, but that might cause a few problems And also ask your questions in the gitter lobby or the zulip stream, so that the other participants who are facing the same problems can also get their doubts clarified.

Do not use any pre-existing templates. Just try improving the section in which the details are displayed.

As you said, it's not working properly without setting it on my pc. When I am opening the html pages they're showing unusual things and text. I request you to assign this issue to someone else.
