Problem

tried with default settings after install i found out that CTRL + asterisk (CTRL + "*") is maximizing it im not completly sure if thats the issue but my keyboard layout is de_DE

Can't reproduce - and I didn't code any shortcut support for changing the font size, so maybe this comes from Electron/Chromium?
