Completly Broken #1075

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run Windows 8
2. Install x360ce
3. Update Directories

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the controller to function properly I get mixed commands or no
commands at all

What versions of x360ce and Windows are you using?
Version 2.1.2.191 Beta 2 and windows 8.1

What gamepad do you use? On what drivers version?
Logitech Dual action

Ive used x360ce before on a windows 7 machine and it worked great. Now that I
have windows 8 playing dark souls has become impossible all the commands are
switched (on both Dark souls 1 and 2) ive tried every dll that there is to try
and nothing fixes it. If i use the xinput that the exe creates on its own
whenever the right joystick goes onto the bottom half the left trigger
activates. This is fixed by using the 32 bit dll but I get an error telling me
that m configuration file does not match x360ce. When I use the 64 bit version
of the dll my controller doesn't work at all and is greyed out in the
application. Lastly my controller goes completely unrecognized on the game
lords of the fallen please help me fix this mess.

Wow really do you think I'm stupid I tried all that I even explained that I
tried that i wouldn't have asked if any of that worked. Your going to
invalidate my request because your directions didn't work for me really wtf.
I've tried every setup under the sun and can't get this thing to work.

are you using the steamworks edition? if so you need to download and replace
the GDB as instructed in the game compatibility list - the steamworks copy no
longer uses data.exe.

Found a fix for all but lords of the fallen turns out the latest version inst
compatible dark souls 1 or 2 here is a link to the older version.

Any assistance with getting lords of the fallen to recognize my controller.

The version that works is 2.0.2.160 and dll version 3.3.1.477

If I may make a suggestion to add this version to downloads for games like dark
soul 1 and 2. I supplied a download link but it would be easier for other
people to have the download from the devs website.

We will NOT add and support old version because we do not have time/resources
for that, latest version works when properly used.

As I see in log file, HookMask is not set, so you use old GDB file, use this
file instead: https://x360ce.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/x360ce/Support/x360ce.gdb

the gdb included with 848 includes dark souls (GFWL) and dark souls 2, but you
are not using the gdb at all according to the log (we added gdb in use/path
before 848).

gdb update is required for the steamworks update of darksouls.

I am and was using a gdp that could very well have been the problem as the game
would not picking it up.

When I started using your the older version dark souls and dark souls 2 started
working fine as I said. I have been doing some fooling around with the latest
version on dark souls and im still having problems idk why hooking doesn't show
up on dark souls 2 but the log for dark souls shows it. Some of the inputs are
still screwed up on the latter versions.

Please perform the conversion to steamworks, your save data and achievements
will transition, to do this open the games properties on steam and set the
dpstde beta.

x360ce is confirmed to work with dsfix (may need dinput8.dll renamed to
_dinput8.dll and inserted into dsfix.ini)
but is known to not work with dscfix

that seemed to make all the difference with dark souls but not dark souls 2.
dark souls 2's controls are still all messed up with the latest version. That
being said at least both dks 1 and 2 recognize my controller how can I get
lords of the fallen to use my controller no matter what I do or try it ignores
my controller. I can't even get a log to work.

the _dinput.dll is what made the difference

my mistake, darksouls 2 was not added to the gdb until r919, so you need to
replace the contents of the gdb with that of the page linked by tapcio.
