Batman Arkham City not detecting X360ce? #232

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Place x360ce inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Rocksteady\Batman Arkham
City\Binaries\Win32
2. Start it up, load the profile, fix your keys etc.
3. Start the game

What is the expected output?
The controls to work. Maybe hear a beep to confirm x360ce is working.

What do you see instead?
Reverse movement and camera controls (left and right stick). No beep.
Game seems to ignore x360 and just detect the gamepad itself with the left and
right sticks inverted. I tried this with and without x360 and still the same
results. It seems the game isnt detecting x360 at all.

What version of x360ce and Windows are you using?
Latest x360ce version and Windows 7 64bit

What gamepad are you using? On what version of drivers?
Twin USB Joystick
I dont know if it matters but it has two controllers attached to each other
with one USB cable (not modded or just comes with two controllers attached to
one cable). It worked for assasins creed revelations / brotherhood and skyrim
(only games ive tried it on). No drivers from what i know considering it only
says USB Control on the actual controllers with no sign of the maker. Its
always detected as Generic USB Controller or Twin USB Joystick.

Please attach a log file created with Log=1 setting in x360ce.ini file,
and screenshot of x360ce app tab with you gamepad capabilities.

Issue report without Log will be marked as Invalid !

I got this working, after a lot of messing around it's just 1 simple setting.
Make sure you have xinput9_1_0.dll selected under 'installed files' section of
the Options tab.

this did not work for me, all the other problems you detailed are still there
(inverted controls, start/select mixed up) are you sure it wasn't another
setting you changed?

I have the same problem!! addind the 9_1_0.dll doesn´t help! I run the game on
xp sp3 with an alienware dual compatible game pad, I just don´t know what else
to try

I've also placed dinput8.dll in game's exe directory and my analog stick
started to work correctly, I'm not sure if this would help on its own, anyway I
got this file from tocaedit.com/dl/dinput8-x360cev21.zip (the one in 'spoofer'
folder)

inverted even with new emulator.

This is normal because Instance GUID was changed. You need to modify ini
manually or recreate it using config app.

I got it
make sure you put all the files in [INSTALL_PATH]\Warner Bros\Rocksteady
Studios\Batman Arkham City\Binaries\Win32

if you put it on Warner Bros\Rocksteady Studios\Batman Arkham City
the game won't detect x360ce ( no beeping sound )

Do anyone interested: I got this working with Saitek P3200. Here are the key
points:

-Suyal's comment was correct, you need to put it in the right directory before
anything would work
-If your analog sticks are inverted, you just have to invert it when recording.
I.E. When recording make sure the number is positive when tilted to the right
(for axis axis), or up (for y axis)
-Lastly, you must configure a proper dead zone if you have analog triggers (R2,
L2). For my controller, I had to go to controller 1 > advanced >, and set 56%
dead zone for both triggers.

I hear the beep when the game starts, all the settings respond properly in
emulation but everything is reversed in the game except for left and right. 2
and 3, 1 and 4 and all triggers are reversed. Doesn't matter if I change all
the button configuration in the emulator, all buttons and analog stick are
reversed - like its not detecting the xbox emulator at all. All files are
loaded in binaries/win32. It used to work with the old emulator, then it
stopped working so I removed old emulator and went to the new one. I've tried
every dll and still no change.

So frustrated!! Removed all emulator files, re-installed latest version (163)
of x360ce. Replaced x360ce with suyal config file. Loaded game, beeped to
recognize emulator and all controls are exactly the same! It doesn't matter if
I change all the setting around in the config files the controls remain exactly
the same! I am using logitech rumblepad 2 and I think a steam update to this
game rendered the gamepad absolutely useless but I refuse to buy an xbox pc
controller!

^jonat... : i wasn't aware that you use logitech rumblepad, my config is for
twin USB joystick ( PS2 controller with USB converter ). I am pretty sure
logitech has it's own website for game keymapping config

Original comment by suyal...@gmail.com on 9 Dec 2012 at 7:58

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I have tried everything I can thin of. The config file is loaded with my
rumblepad 2 settings, and all buttons correspond in x360ce.exe. the ini file
matches. I hear the beep but the game refuses to acknowledge the emulator.
with or without emulator installed, the buttons are all different, it makes no
difference with emulator or not.

I'm using a Speedlink XEOX controller which is essentially a cheap xbox
controller. Batman used to try to detect a controller using its own detection
and that might be causind what you are experiencing. All I know is that you
need to use xinput9 or it won't work.

Got Arkham Assylum to work, steam version. Used x360ce app in
steam/common/steamapps/Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY/Binaries, using
xinput9_1_0.dll. The only way it works is to double-click the BmStartApp
application in that folder DIRECTLY, don't use the BmLauncher or play from your
library in steam.

Was the issue of jonat.. and TheAntCo.. ever resolved with the Logitech Dual
Action? Having the same issue as them and I can't make it work. Interesting to
note, however, that after using x360ce, I'm able to control the "Games for
Windows Live" interface with the controller, and all directions and buttons
behave correctly there. In the game, however, everything is still backwords.

#21 I am using a dragonplus with ps2 adapter wireless I can't find the
"BmStartApp" you mentioned, only the BmLauncher, and it doesn't load at either.

the steam path for the binaries is

 steam/common/steamapps/Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY/Binaries/win32.

I can't it make it work.

I don't know if anyone is still experiencing this issue with Logitech Dual
Action. What helped me was revert to old release x360ce.App-2.0.2.163 and it
worked flawlessly for all games.

beep in game. Tried the xinput9_1_0.dll option, all Hook modes. This is just
crap!

I also had this problem with my PS2 Twin adapter. I tried the Xinput9_1_0.dll
trick like the other PS2 owners. It didn't work for me for some reason. The
game wouldn't read the file. I also tried using Xinput1_3.dll and it didn't
work at first. I was using the .163 version of the file. And then I reverted
back to the .158 version of the Xinput1_3.dll file and it worked.

So for those still having problems, try using an older version of the x360ce
app. That's what worked for me.

Or maybe use latest supported library (r848) ? x360ce.App 2.0.2.163/2.0.2.158
includes terrible broken r444 library.
