windows 8 is shit
and the reason why it doesn't work is the dll needs to be signed for 8 to allow
it to work

Points to NOT support Windows 8:
1. Windows 8 is not final
2. Windows 8 have XInput 1.4
3. Windows 8 need signatures to almost everything
4. I hate Metro UI
5. I like Start button

You not need to change anything, Windows 8 is supported, only Xinput 1.4
currently is not.
You must update DirectX !
