I had a call w/ @tropicalmangos today who is going to help on this! @Cotabe if you want to offer some of your ideas, that's great too.

I think we need some kind of typeform to collect the delegates data... so we need to decide what data we will collect & how...

And we need like a messaging / plan for attracting delegates.

I would like to announce that we are calling in delegates when we launch the MVP for staking & locking for GIVpower (which will be in ~1 week!)

tropicalmango — 08/17/2022 Hey team, just wanted to give an update on GIVpower Delegation. As you know, I'm a newbie here & learning the ways of Web 3 / Dao's....😇

In light of that, I'm changing the current Google Form I initially put together for GIVpower delegation and replacing it with an open call to delegators on the forum with some tweaks. Similar to what Gitcoin did

I'll post the link here once it's ready but it will be hidden until comms strategy has been worked out! Thanks for your patience as I navigate this amazing world of Web 3, learning lots !😅 Also just to note that @mitch (🍔, 🍔) will be doing a seperate post on GIVgarden delegation :). Both posts will be pinned to top of forum. THanks for your help on this mitch!

Hey Team, here is the brief on what we need for GIVpower delegation promo.

Event Title: GIVpower delegation

Event Date/Time/Timezone: Sept 14, 2022 (was told to plan events 2 weeks out)

Event Bio: What is a GIVpower Delegate? GIVpower delegates are leaders in ensuring the best Giveth projects shine! When GIV holders stake GIV tokens in the GIVfarm, they get GIVpower in exchange and can choose to use their GIVpower tokens to show projects support or delegate their GIVpower (voting power) to a representative. These representatives are called “delegates”. Essentially this would allow GIV holders to designate someone they are value-aligned with, to curate Giveth projects on their behalf.

What do delegates do? Delegates use GIVpower on behalf of their constituents to “boost” projects on Giveth that are in alignment with their values. This helps improve the projects’ “ranking”. Future donors to top ranked projects get bigger rewards through GIVbacks, so delegates have a say in which projects are the most attractive to new donors!

How do I get GIVpower? GIV holders get GIVpower (and earn a yield!) when they stake and lock GIV tokens in the GIVfarm. They can use that GIVpower to “boost” projects and help those projects get additional benefits on Giveth.

What kind of delegates are we looking for? Experience in the nonprofit space, public goods space, or on the ground projects. Bonus if you also have Web 3 experience or experience with DAOs or public goods communities like Commons Stack, Gitcoin, Optimism, etc (helpful but not critical).

Nominating Anyone who has an Ethereum address on Gnosis Chain and holds GIV tokens is invited to create a new topic in the #????? category with their self-nomination as a GIVpower Delegate!

@laurenluz I created this epic a month ago to plan the GIVpower launch but since the comms team recently created another one recently, can I close this out then?

hey @tropicalmangos I think leave it for now, because this was specifically for delegation, not GIvpower in general

@tropicalmangos @c0ric0ri - would love you opinions on this:

Bringning in delegates for GIVpower is a great opportunity to get partners in communications for GIVpower boosting launch.

If delegates are sharing with their audiences about GIVpower, then we benefit from that extra comms reach.

In order to implement delegation, we would need to do some design work & some development work to make this happen. Basically when users stake, they should be able to choose a delegate if they wish... the deleagate should have some way of knowing that they have recieved the delated GIVpower etc... the people who delegated should be able to see how the delegate has distributed the funds.

@mosaeedi was suggesting that we delay building the delegation flow in order to observe how users interact with GIVpower boosting when it launches (assuming lauching with no delegation).

I think we should start work on delegation asap to get the extra traction for GIVpower.

Would love some opinions in here

@laurenluz my first question would be, what is the sample size we'll have to work with when it comes to observing how users interact with GIVpower boosting as @mosaeedi suggested? Is it significant enough for us to wait anyway @mosaeedi ?

I'm happy to jump in and lend a hand with this if we decide to go ahead....

I think we start with what the GIVpower journey would look like first, then once that's got concensus then we start doing the copy, creatives, dev work on it. What do you think ?
