Come up with strategy for donor reach out #726

@ahmadabugosh hey Ahmad I would like to take this on but atm I'm wokring on GIVPower delegation which has a tighter deadline and there's also a learning curve for me since I just joined Giveth :)

When does this needs to get done by?

hey @tropicalmangos! This is actually a bigger project that @SnakeGH started taking on (it doesn't really have a deadline, as it's an ongoing project). Once you have some free time, I suggest you have a call together and see how you can support each other 🙌

@ahmadabugosh ok nice! I didn't see anybody assigned so I thought it needed support. @SnakeGH let me know if you want to chat to see how we can team up :) Right now I'm working on GIVPower delegation so that will be my first priority but this a project I'd love to help with after!

@SnakeGH for donor outreach, I've come up with a new approach for us I think that could really work ! I’ve used this structure for product launches and it works really well, in our case it’s to get crypto donations (donors) and projects onboarded.

Let me know if this resonates and I"m happy to put together a plan for this :)

@tropicalmangos this looks really good and thanks for taking the time to put this together, especially since it is extremely organized...but my question is how do we attract these "potential new donors" that are not aware of 1.) crypto philanthropy and 2.) Giveth, as your promotional channels mostly seem to be via Giveth, which is someone is already following Giveth, they are aware of both 1.) & 2.) already. Do you have some examples from previous times of how to strategically interact with non-crypto and non-giveth people / orgs with the goal of getting them involved with Giveth?

@SnakeGH good question, imo our low hanging fruit to get donors would be crypto groups (not giveth related). They're already participating in Web3 but have no idea crypto for good is a possibility...

There are so many local crypto communities being held inside telegram groups, whatsapp, quora, reddit facebook groups etc. Also there are hubs like Doin Gud (NFT community), Gitcion etc that also share the same ethos that we can leverage for collabs/ shoutouts of our event etc. If we don't have this yet, we need to start building out our partnership network for cross promotions via social media. Last thing is online local promotion though channels like meetup.com there are many niches there and we can tap into crypto one and promo it there.

@tropicalmangos it would indeed be great for you, me and @ahmadabugosh (as well as anyone else interested in donor outreach) to organize a call in the coming weeks, as this is one of a couple great ideas we can use to reach new donors...and one we can start on soon.

Hey @SnakeGH it's been a couple months, could you please provide an update / any notes on this issue? Is it actively in progress, or on hold & we should move it to Backlog?

@tropicalmangos how is it going with your above purposed plan that you have put into action?

For me, my strategy for donor outreach has been the donor survey, web3 leaderboards, web3 sourcing / outreach via email, twitter and discord. I have also created a donor road map (GH issue 844) which outlines my strategy for outreach and continued comms.

Since there was communication from Lauren that shilling Giveth needed some guidelines (which was the Giveth eseentials meeting), I wanted to wait until we had the meeting before progressing on this any further on this.

Lauren has taken a look at my presentation and given me feedback (which I plan to incorporate) and then host the first meetup on this topic at the Giveth house.

ETA probably 2 weeks out for first Giveth house event :)

@ahmadabugosh I'm working on a new version of the role proposal now. I will be spending most of my time on the Fundraising and communitas WG.

I think this is really cool and would love to support it. Maybe I can bring this up and we can explore it in any of those WG.

GM @oyealmond I think this is just a revolving and reoccurring topic as "donor outreach" and "strategy" will never really finish, as Giveth will never really have "enough" donors.
