Is there a way to install this bot onto my GH account without having to install all the local stuff like with most probots? What would be the tangible benefits of not having to go through the install process when there are bots (e.g: dependabot) where the installation and configuration are all done online?

Not yet. I was not familiar with building full GitHub apps back when I started this. I have not had a chance to come back to this yet.
