"What's Happening?" - Social / Event Feed

social/Event feed possible name: Whats happening this is a single channel feed which, allow users to leave a post with pinned location. for a set time interval. this feed should be collapsible to the size of one post

views when collapsed: it should placed either at the top or bottom of the screen and have the most recent events being previewed. when opened: normal list view, pushed to the side so that map is still seen. sorted by recency

individual posts event name time left on this post(max 3hours- user can set)- somesort of like button description of event and optional poster(description should be collapsible)

upon clicking the post: highlights location on map, extend the description view.

map interactions not mentioned above: the top 3 events are by default highlighted on the map

I like the idea. I think it is definitely something we can accomplish for this app.

The tools I think we should use are:

• Twitter Bootstrap 3, which is what we are already using for quickly styling the app's client interface.
• Socket.io, for realtime client<-->server bi-directional communication.
• Express, for providing an easy to use RESTful API that our clients can request more detailed information about the events (without putting too much load onto realtime Socket.io).

We need to make it responsive though, and design especially for mobile. What does it look like on screen size of a, 1) Tablet, and 2) phone?
