Nothotaxa or named hybrids can be indicated by the multiplication symbol but also by prefixing the infraspecific rank marker with notho-. For example Iris germanica nothovar. florentina is a simple and valid notho taxon name.

The GNA parser wrongly interprets nothovar as the infraspecific epithet: http://parser.globalnames.org/?q=Iris+germanica+nothovar.+florentina
