will not open files in OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. #720

I have downloaded The Unarchiver 2 times. 2 times it wouldn't even complete
download. 2 times it opened up in my computer. I threw the first one out and
downloaded the second one. I dropped an .exe and an .rpm file on the icon on
the dock, which is how I was told it accepts files. Neither would open and I
got an error message that, this type of file cannot be opened.

My friends are not having any troubles.

What can be the problem??

I am running 10.8.5 with 8gb ram.

Not all .exe files can be opened. There are many different kinds, only some are
supported. If you have an rpm that doesn't open, please post it so I can see if
there is a bug.

Actually, I am getting an error 2. Unable to download unarchiver 3.9.1 zip into
downloads. There is no such file or directory.

Wonder what is happening?

I don't know why you're having trouble downloading, but that has nothing to do
with The Unarchiver itself, but with whatever you are using to download it.

Also, that is not an RPM file, it is a RealMedia video file. The Unarchiver can
not open that, you need RealPlayer for that.

Thank you.
I also don;t know why I cannot download and integrate it into my computer. I
downloaded from apple apps website and from the developer's website and from
CNET website and from one other, and it just doesn't work.

I do have a firewall up, but I took it down to unzip but I get the same error.
