2 years ago Actually... we need this sooner than later since it impacts the ability for someone to invite friends to a group if they get clogged with non-friend requests from the LFG Tool.
Let's describe the problem... (=
Ok, so you're making a group. And you need 1 more DPS. The nightmare situation, because you know spamming or listing a group for 1 DPS means you're going to get a wall of responses (and most of them not what you want).
Anyway you create a group.
Your group shows up in the LFG Tool.
Someone says, "I want to be first, I can't waste time typing to them. I just want them to invite me..."
So they hit you with a group invite.
On your screen, as the Group Leader, you get a popup, "Joe wants to join your group."
And you have to shift-click Joe's name in chat to even see anything about Joe. If it's a class you wanted, if he's even the right level. And you can't see his role without asking him.
So you start typing, "Hey are you a cat or a chicken?" (Or something along those lines.)
Meanwhile 25 other people have done the same thing Joe has done since you started talking to Joe.
And if you decline Joe... because let's say he's a Warlock and you actually posted that you need 1m Healer... then the subsequent name shows up as a popup. "Sally wants to join your group."
Meanwhile, Tim sends you a message, and Tim's a friend and he's exactly what you want. So you try and invite Tim.
And you get, "Do you want to convert your party to a raid?" Even though there are only 4 people in your group... because you have 25 other pending "X wants to join..." requests.
And you have to decline on each and every one of those before you can do a clean invite to your party.
Oh, and also... every last one of those people who hit, "Wants to join your group..." is stuck in their own little mess, as they have to wait for you to respond before they can ask to join another group.
And the Group Leader can keep that person in limbo for like 2-3 minutes and run out the clock on the invite and not even know the invite is pending because it could be behind 15 others in the queue and they're ignoring the popups because they're just waiting for Tim to take the invite they sent.
Anyway it's a mess.

[DEFAULT OFF] Auto Response with, "What's this Invite for?... [DEFAULT OFF] ...and Reject Request
Changes to Groupie Role Response
We also have a feature that sends your info, if you encounter a Groupie Challenge Message... it'll need to be updated to fire on the new message copy.
