Just build some stairs, jump up on them and you are forced out on top of the mine, then you can fall back to the world.

I've encounted falling through the world if you log out in a mineshaft an log back in, this used to be an issue previous to mistlands update, but when updae to mistalnds this issue was fixed, obv something in the newer updates has once again caused an issue.
