@Hakhaktak So how do you propose player should obtain their water? How about a fountain in every city. Additionally, there could be a small chance that waterbottle drop from mobs or perhaps as a chest loot item.
A fountain or a well in every village/city is necessary for creating a realistic environment. Therefore it's possible to refresh your water source in every village/city. Maybe we can make different types of water-sacks or bottles with different storage amount and even weight (read up more over a weight idea soon) and durability (from both the water and the bottle/sack, if we want to).
I don't think that water should be dropped by mobs and neither do I think chests should just give an ordinary bottle of water. If we are going to implement the different kind of sacks and bottles, a chest may drop a very high quality sack/bottle.
Personaly i dont think a water system would be a good idea eventually this becomes inventory clutter and not so much fun as just annoying
You'll only need one bottle so it won't take up much space in you inventory
people will want to be able to travel far whithout going back to a town for water so one bottle will often not be enough and what if you're afk/in a dungeon for a long time. a raid can easily take more than an hour a dungeon will have little to no watter also even if it doesnt clog inventory you still have to keep an eye on it. i think the water system would be a cool addition but it wont take long before it becomes just annoying for the player to constantly have to find water also please keep in mind that were trying to make an mmo, not a survival game
Perhaps a tweaked down water system, where water only becomes a problem after a very long time, and gives you debuffs, instead of damage?
Its still just another thing to watch and will still just become anoying if you make it a verry long time players will forget about it and get hit at the worst time i agree with a food system but were not making the kind of game that should make use of a water system in my opinion

Hmmm that's true indeed. Maybe we should test it and ask users for feedback, that's the best way to discover our posibilities, because of my experience of MineZ, it really makes it more interesting and the game a lot more stragetic. Also, in dungeons there will be water.
i doubt verry accesible water, i guess once we get a bit of a community we can make a poll to see if they would like a system like this

I do not think a water system is a good idea in the game we are making. (same as derpfacedirk)
I assume you all agree that the we may need a different food system. We surely need a water system, since it makes the game more complex, in my opinion.
While thinking about the water system I of course thought MineZ and the possibility to get some water out of every waterblock. Then I remembered that we have no lakes, rivers, or what soever in the Beta world (we do have some lakes in the Alpha, but since that is a relatively small world it wouldn't have mattered). So we have to keep that in mind while thinking about a water system.
Now about an alternative food system. I think it would be cool if we can combine this with the water system. f.e. an apple will not increase thirst whereas a piece of bacon (or something salty) will (dramatically) increase thirst. We can even say that eating something with lots of sugar (apples, pie) will increase sprinting time and something with lots of iron (meat) will increase healing from wounds (more about a healing system soon) and so on. This is very complicated and needs to be very well balanced so I think the food system, if we want to implement it, is a BETA FEATURE or late alpha. The water system is something I would like to see in the Alpha and therefore I'll label it for the Alpha.
Please tell me what you think about it.
