[troubleshoot] User was able to snipe the podcast auction with a last second free bid

The title says it all, but here's some helpful cookie crumbs from our very honest QA-tester-of-the-year:

Hi Seth,

To my incredible surprise, I have just won this auction.

I had earned a free bid by bidding on something else early on, and have been religiously keeping track of this auction to try and place my free bid at the right moment.

Yet I am confused to have won though:

• I bid at the last seconds of the auction clock, as I wanted to maximize my chances
• I expected that my free bid would add another 12 hours on the clock, just like every other bid did
• It didn't though. As soon as I was done bidding, it said the auction was closed and that I had won (see screen shot below)

Was my free bid supposed to not add time to the clock? Or was this caused by some technical glitch?
