automatic backup doesn't work #12

after enabling automatic backups nothing happens , i also can't choose an existing folder and have to create new one

What is the error when selecting an existing folder?

the ideal would be that it lets you choose whatever folder then you give permission to the app to use the folder but this is secondary to the the fact that automatic backups don't work , only manual one does

Checked, my autobackup worked. What is your android version? Are you specifying a date and time in the future? When that time comes the backup is not created? Does the app have access to the directory you specified for backup? Does the application have all available permissions?

1- Android 14 2- yes 3- yes , for almost a week i wait at that time and open the backup directory and it's not there
4- yes , because sometimes 5- it only asked for contacts and i gave it that permission , i didn't change anything else

now that i retested it , it appears that the backup works when the app is in the foreground and when i close it it doesn't , if i open it again after the backup time , it works , in the battery settings it's allowed to work in background

update : the default setting for google pixels is to give apps optimized permission to open in background , i changed it to unrestricted and it still won't work until i open the app

Try setting an earlier time, like a minute later, and see if the file appears or not. Also check that the operating system does not pause in the background.

If you manually click create backup, is it created?
