Will a user be given a choice to toggle IP Protection the first time they open Chrome?

Will it be explicitly mentioned that all data of the user from within their browser would be routed through a Google server?

I am pretty sure the 500 page license agreement that you accepted, when you installed Chrome, already covers that everything you enter into Chrome belongs to Google forever. I am not even joking.

Google has had revenue issues. Google makes money by advertising, therefore collecting user data. I am using google services for completely free, I am the product of the services. Google releases a free vpn which is built into 60% of all browsers on the planet and is on by default.

I wonder what google is able to do to be profitable while upkeeping such a service, considering youtube is already crying about adblockers ruining its ad revenue.

Of course, now google has total control of all 3 points of users browsing, which is the browser, the proxy middleman, and analytics/ads at the end. Google knows everything about the average user, and it will know more.

Whether the authors of 'IP Protection' genuinely care about users privacy or not, all it realistically ends up doing is monopolize googles own space in analytics and advertizing further, and practically keep a massive amount of users in googles bubble where only google is able to target ads. And i assume as private as the proxies are, whether they would collect anything about users from the start or not, there will most certainly be a point where google decides the data from the proxies is a great way to target users more accurately and will start putting some rules in place where it allows itself to reach into users traffic and collect 'Anonymized' traffic data or something.

There are only two reasons why google would release this product for free, and both probably make google massive amounts of money.

And just wait till WEI gets released and only googles ip protection proxies or explicitly identified ip addresses are allowed to enter websites, controlled presumably by a system made by google.

I'm pretty sure they think they are doing something good. Exactly like the authors of WEI. From their point of view, working for one of the largest tech giants on the planet, being very handsomely compensated.

True, Google will be the gatekeeper to a lot of content on the web and 90+ % of all people will either not care or be happy that they are (IP) protected by this big friendly corporation.

...which doesn't really work when you consider that it was Google that established themselves as the monopoly for video hosting, which they afford through invasive data harvesting practices like this. No, he wasn't correct in saying that. If a company hoards the marketshare and knowingly screws over users knowing that they have nowhere else to go (other platforms like odysee and bitchute are infested with far right/nazi garbage, spam, and generally perform worse), then they can absolutely be blamed for their actions.
