While on the payment portal and billing options for Comcast/Xfinity the site was having performance issues. I completed my payment through the website, and closed that tab. I immediately noticed that the server sent my response via sms. On the other tab the after going through to the billing had then gone away and prompted for another payment with a sooner date.
