Just did some light compare and contrast, and while the svg's being compressed is nice for the demo site, they don't impact the visbug extension as much. in some cases, the gifs got larger.

i think the intent here is nice though, so i'll move the best parts into feature tickets:

• automate svg compression for production builds
• switch to .mp4's instead of gif's for tutorial videos
